Teresa H. Anzalone, JD, MBA, is known for a creative and business focused approach to the practice of U.S. and international trademark and copyright law. She has obtained numerous global trademarks and is adept at managing large portfolios. She has significant experience in addressing regulatory and registration hurdles for pharmaceutical and health care trademarks. Teresa uses her expertise and problem solving ability to assist her clients in obtaining and protecting their intellectual property rights. With an affinity for the arts she is particularly interested in helping authors, musicians and artists with their intellectual property needs.

 

Teresa began her career as a Trademark Examining Attorney at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office where she specialized in clothing, textile and jewelry trademarks. She later worked for several years in a boutique intellectual property law firm counseling a wide variety of clients with businesses in the clothing, food, publishing, electronics, software and toy industries. After 18 years, she recently left GlaxoSmithKline, a healthcare and pharmaceutical company. As a Vice President at GlaxoSmithKline (formerly SmithKline Beecham), she specialized in trademark and copyright law and managed a trademark portfolio of over 18,000 records filed in 130 countries.

 

Teresa has been a frequent speaker on intellectual property matters. For over ten years she lectured on “Foreign Trademark Practice” for ALI-ABA (American Legal Institute/American Bar Association) programs. She has also lectured on “Anti-Counterfeiting Efforts in the Pharmaceutical Industry” and “Global Brand Protection” at AIPLA (American Intellectual Property Law Association) meetings. She has chaired the AIPLA “Pharmaceutical Trademarks Sub-Committee” and the INTA (International Trademark Association) “North American Parallel Imports Sub-Committee”. Teresa has also published an article in the Corporate Counsel’s International Advisor titled “Foreign Considerations Regarding Trademarks”.  As an adjunct faculty member at Holy Family University, Teresa has taught both graduate and undergraduate business courses.  Teresa is an aspiring novelist and enjoys painting and sailing.
