Karen L. Casser, JD has served as general counsel of several high tech companies, including SAS Institute Inc., Cary, North Carolina, and as past president of the International Technology Law Association (ITech Law, formerly the Computer Law Association). Her practice focuses on technology-related transactions and the protection and commercialization of intellectual property assets. 

She is an experienced business advisor and transactional attorney who has negotiated technology deals worldwide. A sampling of the wide variety of transactions Ms. Casser handles are technology development and transfer agreements, software and data licensing, corporate agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), sales, marketing, software development, strategic alliances, teaming, reseller, distributorship, dealer, content, ecommerce, outsourcing and consulting agreements in both the commercial and government markets.

She is known as a practical and skilled negotiator who understands how to work with your business team to realize the team’s goals.

Ms. Casser also advises clients on trademark and copyright matters and works with clients to protect and maximize the value of their intellectual property assets.
